...I can't work out what the apple diagram is about? My apple edge is sometimes grey and sometimes partly green (on different days) - what does the green bit mean, please?

You've probably figured this out by now. The apple has a number above it - that's your calorie budget for the day. As you log food items eaten, the apple starts to turn green to show how many calories eaten and how many left that you can still eat. The program is interactive so when you burn calories thru exercise, the program adds more calories to your daily allowance to keep you within your plan of X pounds per week weight loss. So when you log food, the apple gets more green, and when you log exercise some of the green disappears. The idea is to end the day with a completely green apple - this means you are staying on plan. If the apple turns red then your calorie intake was too high and if it's still partly grey then you have not eaten up your whole daily allowance.

Hi RainbowEater, I still don't get why the "left" figure in the apple is far lower than it should be - I posted separately and asked this question. I ate breakfast and lunch and that left me over 600 kcals more to eat for dinner. But the figure in the apple says "left: 339". Why is this and which do I follow? I know for sure I need more to eat cos I was starving myself.

I wish there was still a summary at the top of your food log showing how many calories you still have left each day. That had been very helpful. Now it is gone.
