Calorie count Topic

This program is telling me I can consume over 2500 calories per day. But, when I check other programs I should be at 1400 to 1500 calories per day. I'm 270 lbs and 6'1" tall at 59 years old. That is the same data I entered into this program. What is the correct number?

I read once on a biggest loser forum to take your current weights times 7 ( to lose ) and times 10 to maintain. Hope this helps.

Check your settings. Best to class yourself as sedentary even if you are active and then add your activities as exercise. I am 5'8" and 184lbs and I maintain my weight at about 2700 kcals per day if I don't exercise much or much more kcals when I am mountain biking.

Trust the app. It works well. You are very tall and 2500 sounds a good target to me.

Also stick to 2500 and see if the weight comes off. If it does not then drop down the kcals.

The first two weeks I dropped from 278 to 267 by just not eating junk and staying around the 2500 the program said I could consume. But, now I seem to be stuck at 268. My goal was just a pound per week. My exercise is a daily walk and I use another program to count my steps. I haven't reached my walking goal of 8000 steps.

You need to take more challenging exercise. Your body has been efficient with your current walking. Perhaps, some upper body weight exercises

OK - thanks

OK - it just keeps telling me that I'm on track but the bathroom scale seems to be stuck. I'm frustrated. Thanks.
