Question Topic

Hi. New here. Is this real time talk? Will I get notification when someone answers me? Or is this something where I have to wait hours/days for a response? Not sure how these groups work. And sometimes when I have a question or need support......I want answered NOW. It took me forever to find any groups. Thanks.

Hello???

How do I get past this plateau?
I have been stuck on weight loss plateau for a month. I have been consistently ingesting 600 cals below my dri, but my weight has only increased by 1 lb in the last month. I have tried to increase cals on some days and reduce on others, just to mix things up, but there is no movement. I am also trying to meet macro nutrients especially paying attention to keeping protein and fiber high and carbs and fats low.
I have exercised up to 1000 cals on some days, but my gut just slows down in the next few days and I don't see any downward movement. I don't exercise and the wt is higher by about 1 lb the next day.
I eat mostly protein and keep to 1500 cals one day and the weight is still same or higher the next day. I had consistently lost total of 15 lbs over the previous 2 months, but then it just halted completely.I still need to lose about 40 lbs to be at the desired BMI.
I have made huge changes in lifestyle, gave up drinking soda every day, I am pretty sure I was eating 3000 cals per day at least before this and lots of sugar and carbohydrates and hardly any protein. Now I have changed it all around, eating salads, fruits, and egg white omelets every day, but my body is still fighting me for keeping every lb of fat in the belly.
How can I overcome this plateau?
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks

Hi, you are not alone šŸ™‹ā€ā™‚ļø

Iā€™m here if you need anything

Hey buddy-seekers: I could also use the accountability of someone to check in with. I've used MND on & off for years - back this time after gaining 22lbs over a year, so I can definitely relate to Zzzap. I'm down 4 so far, with 18 left, and I know it'll get harder from here. Congrats to Deathfromabove! Nixee - I'm up to talk instant pot dishes, but I'm a n00b to be honest - I've mostly just used mine for rice :o

plateauing is so discouraging. in my case, I let the frustrated day or two happen and then get back to focusing on my goal and logging what I eat and almost always see a correlation in weight change, but what's annoying is it lags a day or two behind getting back on the healthy bus - not an instant next day thing. I personally don't trust restaurants to accurately represent nutrition and avoid liquor while out due to heavy pours (and bad food choices that follow...)
