Trying to reach my goal upto 160 and I am always between 152-153. I need help please.
What should I eat for pre and post workouts and also before bed to boost my calories. I try to stay away from sugar, cholesterol and sodium as much as possible . Please no suggestions for protein powder i natural milkshakes with fruits and ice cream. Can I please get answers from nutritionists and people experts on weight gain. I tired of being skinny. :(

If you want to gain muscle mass you must take in an adequate amount of protein. You certainly don't have to use powders but you definitely want to track it. To build mass concentrate on exercises that build strength.

Ok hopefully I can gain 5 pounds in a month. So I just need to lift and eat? What should I eat before bed? Dan fast help in the process?

You can address your question to the nutritionist in the forum. From what I've read of her replies you may need to change your target calories. 3500 kcal equals a pound lost or gained and that means you need to be in calorie excess by a minimum of 17500 kcal over the next month. That's 4375 kcal a week. Bottom line check your activity and calorie setting. Put your goal weight as wanting to gain 5 pounds and you may want to put your activity level setting higher. Mynetdiary will suggest a calorie intake based on your activity level and desire to gain weight.

High protein foods: salmon, egg whites, chicken, beef, nuts

Ok I have changed my weight plan and it only shows gain 1 pound. Also I have realized that's calorie fake in his app is about 3,000... So I am going I try for either 4,000-5,000 for next month. I also put down active on my lifestyle changing my gain plan additional week for sept according to this app. FYI I eat indian roti a lot it has 340 calories for each roti. :) I stopped eating foods with too much sugar, cholesterol and trans fat foods. I always aim below hundred for sugar and below 300 for cholesterol. So if i weight 152, how much protein do I need? It always go up to 100-200 on here. Thanks for all your support everyone , it's giving me optimism.

This article had a lot of great information. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/maki1.htm.

Basically it's 1 gram of protein per pound for an athlete. From what I read I understood that is for an intense athlete. Are you that intense of an athlete? I'm guessing you should be fine at 100 gram. Don't forget to include veggies and carbohydrates though. You will need the fiber so your digestive system stays normal.

There are high protein pastas. Quinoa has a lot of protein. I love beans and lentils and they're high in protein and fiber.

You keep saying that you're avoiding fats and cholesterol but some fat is needed. Fat is the most calorie dense nutrient as well. I recommend researching sources of unsaturated fats. If you're concerned about blood work then have it checked more frequently. Some pharmacies have a health center that offers lab work.

On the activity side you may want to talk to a trainer about your routine.

Like I said I eat a lot of Indian rotis now thru have tons of protein about 15g for each roti, low cholesterol and no sugar so I found my go to food now. :) I had a recent blood test like three months ago and my cholesterol came up in the borderline close to 300 that's why I try to lower each day and as for sugar, diabetes is in my family so I try as much as I could to consume less then 100g of sugar. As far as I am concerned according to my doc I am healthy, just underweight of my Bmi which is supposed to be 160-165, reduce sugar and cholesterol. At this point I just want to add mass then I will cut the fat to show my muscles everywhere. Also I do notice that I burn mostly calories walking my dog and weight lifting. My trainer did tell me to reduce my cardio to 2-3x weekly to reduce mass loss. So I lift about for 45-50 mins then walk my dog when I get home for about 20-30mins then eat most of the day and drink natural no protein powder milkshakes with ice cream, fruits and whatever I can find.

I forgot to mention that on this app. sodium levels are always above 2,500 so j want to reduce that as well. Thank you all for your support on this topic, once again appreciate it. What I love about this app it's free, and does not go over my budget like having a personal trainer is expensive so I try to gain more info from here and research articles.
