Trouble sleeping Topic

I've been exercising at 5:30 am everyday and I can't sleep because of it. My routine consists of free weights, resistance bands and medicine balls. Should I move my routine closer to bedtime? Would that wear me out so that I can follow up with a hot shower and fall asleep?

Exercise in the evening followed by a shower/bath helps me but not everyone reacts the same. Are there other factors in your life that may be contributing to insomnia?

There may be. Could my age be a factor? I'm 42. I love my job so I don't think it's stress. My diet is excellent--1400-2000 calories a day and not a lot of foods that would disrupt my sleep (like alcohol). I know that I indulge in the occasional glass of wine or low-sugar margarita, but the insomnia is so consistent! I used to sleep so well after I trained really hard. That's why I wonder if it could be the case that I am just not exercising at the right time.

Are you tired and sleepy during the day? The more exercise I get the better I sleep. I find myself needing less time asleep. I've gone from 8-9 hours in bed and always being tired to 6-7 hours in bed but never being sleepy during the day.

You should try taking melatonin. Melatonin is a sleep aid it will help you sleep, along with getting rid of bad dreams.

I've noticed the older I get, the harder it is to sleep. I have to have a full tummy to get comfy enough. Try a glass of milk before bed?
