  • Soak beans in water overnight. Rinse well.
  • Chop onion, mince garlic, and cut ham into bite-sized pieces.
  • Combine all ingredients in slow cooker.
  • Cook on low for 8 hours.
  • If desired, puree 3/4 of soup in small batches, returning to slow cooker before serving.
