  • Chop basil and mince garlic clove.
  • Combine all ingredients in a container with a lid. Shake well to mix.
  • Let sit for for a few hours to let flavors develop.

Note: You can substitute any dry red wine, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, for Merlot. You can substitute 1 teaspoon dried basil and 1 tsp dried oregano for fresh herbs.
