3 ingredients

...
4 oz Dark chocolate 70 - 85% cacao
...
1/2 cup Milk canned evaporated nonfat
...
1 tsp Vanilla extract

4 steps

  • Break the chocolate into pieces. In a small saucepan, combine the chocolate and evaporated milk.
  • Heat on low, stirring often, until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth. Don't let it come to a boil; keep it on low heat.
  • Once the chocolate is melted, stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Pour the mixture into a fondue pot or small slow cooker to keep warm while serving. If you are using your burner, keep the heat on the lowest setting.

Dip with strawberries, bananas, orange slices, or pineapple wedges. Enjoy!

Tips:

This recipe makes enough chocolate fondue to dip 1 lb of strawberries and 6 oz of blackberries. If using fruit for dipping, rinse and pat-dry beforehand so that the fondue does not become too thin as you dip repeatedly.

Use a long fondue or marshmallow fork for dipping for best chocolate coverage.

Variations: substitute peppermint extract, creme de menthe, or orange liquor for vanilla extract.

You may choose to reduce the amount of evaporated milk for a thicker fondue. Start with 1/3 cup and gradually add more to reach desired consistency.
