Day one newbie Topic

How all, I'm new here and excited but a little scared by what I see. My calorie limit is under 1100/day. That seems pretty low. Is that possibly correct for slow weight loss?

Your correct daily calories is determined by many things, including your lifestyle, current weight, weight loss goals, etc. If that number seems low to you, double check your answers to the app’s questions- maybe you accidentally typed in the wrong # for how much weight you want to lose and how fast you want to do it. Also, this app is great, but you may want to speak with your doctor about what is a good daily goal for you; my doctor had me tweak the number and my amount of protein per day to best suit my medical needs.

Thanks for your reply. I want to lose 10 lbs by the end of September and my daily cal intake came up at 1091. Everything is correct on my replies.

Hello Lv2ski1001,

You may find it hard to limit your calories to 1091 per day. Is there a chance that you can increase your exercise so that you are allowed more calories? Exercise also helps increase muscle, improve muscle tone, and can help most people with appetite control. It is a winner for weight loss. That seems impossible even with exercise

Eating fewer than 1,200 calories a day could actually slow your weight loss. Just make sure you fill with things like salad to fill you up and give you the fiber that you need. But don’t use bottled dressing!!

Lv2- Hello! I know your post is from mid July, so I hope you are doing well on your journey and hear how it is going for you.

I have to say I agree with U6082553 - however I know each person is different that’s why there’s so many different approaches out there. Still, my concern is restricting to such a low caloric intake. Mine are actually set at just above 1600 a day, and when I stopped setting my calories to a 1000 a day, and ate better quality calories, drank several bottles of water a day, and moved more - this is when I began to feel the weight coming off. Not just a little but daily because I sort of got obsessed with seeing the scale drop. Which I don’t recommend (I know that’s not healthy.) Working on my issues!

My point is eating the right nutrition and amount is sometimes more often than not, the right way to “Diet” and by this I don’t mean starvation, or even deprivation, I mean simply “Did I Eat Today.”

Greens - Protein - Water! - Exercise - Sleep! etc...

Restrictions just never personally work for me. Variety and being with like minded people does.

Keep up on this journey because it’s worth it, You, are worth it!
