Carrying on when I have had a bad day (or several) turns out to be about the hardest part of keeping up my (initially loss then) weight maintenance. If I've had a day where I didn't have much insight into what I ate (e.g. travelling or ate at a party) I sometimes feel it's pointless to track, and then it's harder than it's strictly logical to start back up on the following day. Knowing that, however, makes it easier to tackle those feelings. I use the scales to trigger me to track again if I reach my danger weight, and when below that I try and control intake more intuitively.
