I'm new and need friends for Motivation and Support Topic

Hi yall my name is Lisa and I'm new to the site and looking for friends that can keep me Motivated I'm looking to lose around 20-30 pounds and I know I can do this just need to stay focused and keep my mind from not wanting to stay focused. Please feel free to add me as a friend as I'm seriously needing to do this before something serious happens.

Hi there. Be true to yourself and you will do ok. I am doing the New year resolution “I really must lose weight this year” thing. I started on 2nd Jan at 278 pounds. As of 20th Jan I have lost 12 pounds. I expect the rate of weight loss to ease off over the next few weeks. I have a history of getting the weight off and then putting it back on again. The most important thing I can say is that we all have off days. I my experience you either weigh in to find that the result is not what you expected...... or you have a day when you eat something that is not best for losing weight. I am sure that it happens to all of us at some point. When it happens the important thing is not beat yourself up about it. Just get back into it and put it behind you. Always remember that in the long term if you are eating less calories than you are burning you WILL slim down.

Hi Lisasjourney1978! Welcome to MND. Glad you found us! Have you checked out the Groups and Teams area on MND? Check out the lower horizontal tool bar (on the website) or look under community tab (on the iPhone app). This is a great way to connect with others based on the type of diet you are following, your age, etc.
How is the tracking going for you?
Best, Joanna (Dietician)

Hey Lisa...I too am looking for a motivating friend. I am currently a big guy, started at 370. Started 2 weeks ago and already lost 17 pounds. I am sticking to 1200 calories a day. Let me know if I can help you at all.

Good job on meeting your weight loss goals. Great app.

Hi Jimp55- Welcome to MND- Strong work on your weight loss! I am so curious, what were the major diet and activity changes you made to impact your weight loss? Thanks for sharing. Best, Joanna (Dietician)

Hi Jimp55 So glad you found MND! It has helped me lose ~30 lbs. best advise I work with is totally honest food logging, allow lots of time (years if need be) in goal planning, and going to bed before I start snacking! The other major change that helped me was high quality mostly plant based and the least processed foods as possible. I eat everything but in moderation and really try to register how the food makes me feel. Some foods I think I love the taste of actually makes be feel icky. If I listen to my body and remember, I make healthier choices next time.

Hey SoEasyYetSoHard!
Thanks for sharing your awesome advice! Yes! So great to personalize your plan and make it a lifelong health journey of learning as you track! Listen to your physical body and inner wisdom!

Make it a healthy and happy day! Brenda (Dietitian, MyNetDiary)

Hello Lisa, I'm Louise and happened upon this App last Sat..26th Jan - I think its great, like the look, response time, wealth of analysis but not ventured into the community bit yet & as a fellow 'beginner' perhaps we can link? I want to lose a similar amount to you but have decided to set small targets - 6lbs by 27th Feb which is when I am meeting up with some friends & would like to feel lighter. This week has been about getting my head around the App, being honest about what I eat..ie remembering to log that quoin cocktail sausage I nibbled from the fridge whilst making tea! Not sure I've lost weight so may have to adjust what I eat........ how you doing? L
