Autopilot turns GREEN to RED - so discouraging! Topic

I've only been doing this for 4 weeks, and I am thrilled with how well it is working for me. I am getting exactly the results I want: losing 1 lb per week, safely, app is easy to use, I'm preplanning, meals, and if I write down food BEFORE eating, I make better choices.

My weight has always fluctuated due to a morass of medical conditions, which is ok, I am used to it. no problem. So when autopilot changes my caloric goals, that is ok too. BUT HERE IS THE PROBLEM: Days I was "good" that were GREEN, autopilot goes back and changes to RED when it adjusts my calories moving forward. It adjust backwards as well and makes it LOOK as if I overate that day, when I did NOT...I LOVE autopilot, but I don't want to see a bunch of red days, when I KNOW every day I was on plan.

So what I've been doing is adding exercise in 20-calorie increments on days autpilot turned "red" then offsetting that with 20-calorie increments of food on the next day I underate. Will that screw up the autopilot? The net calories for the week are exactly the same, and it eliminates the red days.

My preference would be for the GREEN days to stay green. Perhaps MyNetDiary could put a "finalize" option on a day, and save in a text box for that day's report: 1) caloric goal for the day, 2) calories consumed that day, 3) red or green status. That way the autopilot math will still work (that is a GREAT algorithm) but allow users to remember what REALLY happened that day withOUT turning the day red. (I would also recommend an unfinalize if the user wants to change the text box...also, the text box would be just that, only a text box or a label.)

Bottom line: When I was 100% good and my days were all green, PLEASE STOP TURNING THEM TO RED! I LOVE my green days, I am so proud of them, and the red days make me so sad.

Thank you!

If anyone has any ideas on how to keep the green days green on autopilot, please let me know. Thanks!

Increase your daily calorie goal to account for the days that you consume extra calories. Obviously, you eat less than that on your other days. Problem solved. No more red days. Alternatively, I believe the maximum plan on MND has a calorie cycling option so you can set different calorie amounts for different days.
