Hi everyone, have just joined today and really hope I can stick with a plan. Have steadily gained weight over the last 5 years and as a result have developed arthritis in both knees.
I work in aged care and need to be able to move freely in order to do my job properly.

Anyway can’t wait to chat with you all.
MummaDuck in Australia ????

I to have arthritis..no fun when your overweight with it. I'm just tired not being able to walk or go anywhere that requires a lot of walking. Grocery shopping is not even fun so lets struggle with our ups and downs and I hope a lot of ups and get back out in the world!

I’m right there with y’all !! arthritis is no fun at all !!!

Today was weigh in for me....yak. I knew I was in trouble no loss. Had some days of eating wrong foods. Some was do to that is what I cook for grandsons and it was easier to eat with them than cook something else. Some was I let my stress of having to do something (even going to and outing that requires a lot of walking ) get to me and I eat to I think make me or my nerves feel better...but it long run it don't.

Hi Joycetime
My wife’s arthritis was getting very bad and a Doctor who is a neighbor ask if she was taking a statin. She was and he said that many people react to statins with a lot of joint pain. She talked with her doctor and is now taking a different statin and a much smaller dose. She still has pain, but much less.
She had also started using CBD creams that seem to help, but are a bit pricey.
I posted a message for you in blogs also under motivation iI think.

Hope all works out for you all. Pain can ruin everything...mood, weight loss, will of life and even just getting out of bed. So I hope all goes well to get back out and live the life to the fullest! I have heard about the CBD creams..we have a store in time that sells them. As I said my daughter is going to school to be a nurse practitioner so I get her reviews on them. I would really have to consider the pain and them to decide. I do know before I retired last year my boss gave their dog some pills from the store for dogs....about loss the dog. Fell asleep couldn't wake her up. But so many take them..your on a balancing beam to decided. Good luck with your diet, the pain and making your goals. Yesterday I joined weight watchers back up. It is total new from when I lost 150 pounds 10 years ago. I'm online with it ...there are foods with 0 points, and a lot of people to talk to if you have the right kind of phone...you can't on computer only put your thoughts in there sites you can't put your own for some reason. I'm 62 not updated on phones, lol. Take care!

Hi Joycetime
Glad to hear you joined weight watchers. Have a group to support and hold you accountable is very important. I usually am good at losing weight if I can actually get up the gumption to start it.
Maintenance is the hard part for me. I don’t put it back on fast, but 5 lbs a year over ten years puts me back where I started.
Think I will try to go 15 - 20 lbs past my goal, knowing 5 will come back almost over night when I go to maintenance and I have never been able to actually maintain.

I know it is amazing how over night you can put on 5 pounds. If I eat any fast food like McDonalds my weight is up. I have 2 little dogs I use to go thru McDonalds and get them cheese burgers and they have not had one for awhile because I don't want to get me anything. You are right keeping it off is a challenge...I lost my husband 10 years ago to cancer and to help me thru losing him I walked 3 to 5 miles a day with my puppies and joined WW and lost actually 185 pounds. Than 5 to 6 years later I let a man move in with me...ah the stress he thought I was to take care of him so the weight just over 6 years was back on..yes hugh...needless to say he is not with me any longer. I keep remember how healthy, good and happy with life and want so bad to get it back....and I will and so will you. We have to do this it is our life and we want to live it and don't let anything get in our way!!

Try to set some short term goals and then work hard to make them. I have been losing about 1 1/2 lbs a week right along. I set 1000 less calories a day less than a maintenance diet and excercise for an hour each day. It’s hard work, but if you achieve even a small short term goal, it spurs you on. Don’t get discouraged if it isn’t a straight line. I only record the days when I am lighter than the last weigh-in. Sometimes 10 days go by without any progress, but if you keep at it, it will happen. I now have 222 days to lose 25 lbs more..
Keep pushing!

Wow only 1000 calories and an hour exercise! That is will power. I exercise 4 days a week for 1/2 hour and since I'm on Weight Watcher I count points ...one day I tried to figure my calories from the points...I think it is around 1250 a day. You are right each day is a new day to learn from and hopefully progress from. I wish when I was in my thirties I would have thought how important health is and would have ate better and fed my family better. My daughter has a weight problem also most likely from baby on I feed her comfort food and didn't bring healthy food in her life. I know what it feels like to be healthy and I can't wait to have it back and walk thru parks and country roads and get on the floor and play with my grandson's and fur babes! I did lose couple more pounds this week and I patted my self on back, lol. You have a great weekend and hope your family is doing well and staying safe!
