Sync to my Fitbit? Topic

Is there a way(if not there should be) a way to snyc this app with my fit bit app? It would help out so much! I rarely walk carrying my phone so my steps don't transfer!

Hi SarahW, yes! If you have a Maximum account, you can sync with FitBit. This webpage has more info: http://www.mynetdiary.com/calorie-counter-fitbit-integration.html

Hi,
So I linked my account on MND and Fitbit. But I have a few questions:
Should I still log manually my exercises to MND? Or should I just relay on Fitbit data and its sync with MND?
I don't see my steps on MND at all. I checked all the settings (advised) and still not able to see the steps. What should I do?

Thanks!

Hi CurlyA, you can simply allow your exercise calories to come from FitBit. I only enter exercises manually when it is an exercise that doesn't register well with steps (swimming) or if I forgot to put my FitBit on.

The sync between FitBit is not continuous - it is periodic. Also, how often you sync to your FitBit app on your phone or to the web program will also affect how often MyNetDiary updates your steps from FitBit.

I've linked my fitbit to this app; however I would like to track other exercise activities without this app doing its calculations. I just want to record it so that I can see it on a report that gives the nutritional information and exercise so I can see how the foods I eat and exercise are affecting my blood sugars. I go to a gym twice a week and I don't see a way to record this activity.

My Fitbit syncs, but never subtracts any calories, what gives?

I want everything (all calories) to appear on my Fitbit dashboard. I don’t want to use MyNetDiary as my dashboard. How do you do this.

Hello LAH2,

Our apologies,

MyNetDiary can "write" food calories to Fitbit and MyNetDiary can "read" exercise calories from Fitbit. MyNetDiary cannot "read" food calories from Fitbit and MyNetDiary cannot "write" exercise calories to Fitbit. Sorry...

Regarding burnt calories... Enabled Wearable Activity Calories can be shown in the Exercise section as Fitbit Exercise record. Fitbit does not expose the particular exercise value required for calculation of your daily energy balance. See how MynetDiary calculates this value according to data received from Fitbit: https://www.mynetdiary.com/calorie-counter-fitbit-integration.html#fitbitExerciseExplained

This record has to reflect the additional calories burned beyond Activities records in Fitbit. For example, calories burned while walking. Fitbit mobile app calculates and displays all calories burned. Resting Calories and extra active Calories which are shown there as Daily Total Calories Burned. Fitbit Total Daily Total Calories Burned imported into MyNetDiary. But, this value is shown in Exercise Notes only. It's using for calculation of Fitbit Exercise. MyNetDiary subtracts DRI (Weight Maintenance calories) from Fitbit Daily Total Calories Burned. This number of active calories also depends on the user's activity level. The value includes only calories burnt beyond expected. This is necessary to prevent double counting. After subtracting DRI expected calories, MyNetDiary creates Fitbit exercise record.

Hope that helps!

Sincerely,

hi....I'm experiencing the same thing with my FitBit syncing. It's on always sync but I'm still not clear on this point:

Fitbit Total Daily Total Calories Burned imported into MyNetDiary. But, this value is shown in Exercise Notes only. It's using for calculation of Fitbit Exercise. MyNetDiary subtracts DRI (Weight Maintenance calories) from Fitbit Daily Total Calories Burned. This number of active calories also depends on the user's activity level. can you explain this further? I was really shocked to see that even though I killed it at the gym the app only recognized 1 calorie. Talk about a real bummer!
