MyNetDiary and Whoop – integrate your diet and exercise
MyNetDiary online and mobile diet program helps you lose weight by tracking your food calories with the best nutrition database in the world. MyNetDiary can also keep track and estimate your activity calories based on activity type and duration.
Whoop is a wearable that tracks daily energy, sleep, recovery, and workouts. After you link your Whoop account, MyNetDiary can download that data into your diary.
Using Whoop with MyNetDiary helps to calculate daily calorie balance more accurately, see the actual balance of the calories you burn and eat during the day, and ultimately helps you lose weight faster and smarter!
How does Whoop linking work?
MyNetDiary can download from Whoop:
- Total calories burned from Whoop daily cycles, plus workout calories and distance
- Hours of sleep, including deep, light, REM (rapid eye movement), and awake time
- Respiratory rate
- Resting heart rate and heart rate variability
- Recovery score, blood oxygen (SpO2), and skin temperature
- Body weight
- Individual workouts
The Whoop API does not provide steps or daily active minutes. The specific information available depends on the Whoop device you use and the permissions you grant.
Whoop data is transferred one-way only, from Whoop to MyNetDiary. By creating a link, you authorize MyNetDiary to read your Whoop data and write it under your MyNetDiary account. MyNetDiary does not send food or diary data to Whoop.
You can choose which data is downloaded from Whoop on the Whoop Settings page.

What happens after I link?
After you link to Whoop, MyNetDiary downloads recent Whoop data and then keeps it up to date. When your device syncs to Whoop, MyNetDiary receives a notification within several minutes and downloads the new data. If you want to download today's data immediately, go to Settings / Apps and Devices / Whoop Settings and click Verify link.
If you do not log foods in MyNetDiary for 10 contiguous days, MyNetDiary stops downloading your Whoop data. When you resume logging foods, MyNetDiary resumes Whoop downloads.
Whoop Active Calories vs. total calories
Whoop download creates a Whoop Active Calories entry at MyNetDiary Exercise, which is different from the daily total calories you see in the Whoop app. MyNetDiary exercise includes only the calories burned in addition to normal lifestyle determined by your personal activity level. This is why MyNetDiary subtracts Weight Maintenance Calories from the downloaded total calories:
Whoop Active Calories = Total calories burned − Weight Maintenance Calories
We recommend setting MyNetDiary Activity Level to Sedentary, because Whoop Active Calories includes only calories above your activity level, so the Sedentary level in MyNetDiary gives you the most exercise calories.
If Total calories from Whoop are smaller than Weight Maintenance Calories, MyNetDiary creates a Whoop Active Calories exercise with zero calories.
Sleep, heart, and recovery
MyNetDiary downloads hours of sleep (total, deep, light, REM, and awake) and respiratory rate from Whoop sleep sessions. Recovery downloads include resting heart rate, heart rate variability, blood oxygen, skin temperature, and recovery score. Body weight is downloaded from your Whoop profile for today only. To see the downloaded measurements in MyNetDiary, go to MyNetDiary Daily Details and click “Select Measurements to Track”.

You can terminate the MyNetDiary link on the Whoop Settings page.
