6 September 12 September is National Yoga Month - Here’s How You Can Celebrate

According to the Yoga Health Foundation, September is National Yoga Month (a national observance designated by the Department of Health & Human Services), designed to educate about the health benefits of yoga and to inspire a healthy lifestyle.

And whether you’re a seasoned yogi or a first-timer with little flexibility, this month is a great time to integrate a little (or a lot of) yoga into your life.

First, if you’re not familiar with the different yoga styles commonly practiced, you can read more here at YogaMovement.com. Styles include ashtanga, bikram, kundalini, and viniyoga (gentle flow).

To find out what style might suit you best, Fitness Magazine put together a little quiz to help you determine what practice is best for you and your goals. It’s five questions (though some seem senseless), but it gives you a starting place.
