How to Log Steps Data

You can track steps automatically by linking the app to Apple Health on iPhone or iPad, or Health Connect on Android; steps from your phone, watch, band, or another app sync if that source sends data there. To log manually, tap the footprints icon on the Dashboard. Syncing and manual logging cannot be used together; synced data overrides manual entries.

You can track steps automatically by linking the app to Apple Health (on iPhone or iPad) or Health Connect (on Android). Steps recorded by your phone, smartwatch, fitness band, or a third-party app will sync automatically, as long as the device or app sends data to Apple Health or Health Connect.

On Android, steps tracked by Fitbit can also be synced through the Health Connect hub.

To log steps manually, tap the footprints icon on the Dashboard and enter your step count.

Note: Automatic step syncing and manual logging cannot be used at the same time. If syncing is enabled, data from Apple Health or Health Connect will override manual entries.
