We have recently updated how it handles heart rate data from devices like Fitbit and Garmin. Instead of importing general heart rate (HR) data multiple times a day, we now focus on importing Resting Heart Rate (RHR) data, which provides a more accurate and relevant measurement for health tracking. This change may cause confusion if you were previously used to seeing continuous HR data in MyNetDiary or PlateAI. What Changed:
- Previous Method: our apps previously imported general HR data, often logged multiple times per day.
- Current Method: The app now imports Resting Heart Rate (RHR) data once per day, reflecting your average heart rate while at rest during a specific monitoring period.
Common Issues:
1. Heart Rate Data Missing Since August 14:
Users may notice that no heart rate data is imported into MyNetDiary from Fitbit or Garmin since August 14. This is due to the transition from importing general HR data to RHR data.
If you are looking for your daily HR logs, you may not see them in our apps, as the focus has shifted to tracking your Resting Heart Rate (RHR).
2. No RHR Data Displayed:
If no RHR data is showing in our apps, please ensure that your Fitbit or Garmin device is capable of recording RHR. Check your device settings to confirm that RHR tracking is enabled.
Troubleshooting Steps:
- Check Fitbit/Garmin Settings: Ensure that your Fitbit or Garmin device is set to track Resting Heart Rate (RHR). Refer to your device’s manual or support resources for detailed instructions.
- Re-link Your Device: Try unlinking and re-linking your Fitbit or Garmin account in the our app. This can help resolve any sync issues that may have occurred during the transition.
- Update MyNetDiary or PlateAI: Ensure that your app is updated to the latest version, which supports the new RHR tracking feature.
- Review Your Device’s Data: If heart rate data appears in your Fitbit or Garmin app but is not syncing to MyNetDiary and PlateAI, provide a screenshot of your heart rate data to Support for further assistance.
Q1: Can I revert to importing general HR data instead of RHR?
A1: We now focus on importing Resting Heart Rate (RHR) data, as it provides a more accurate and relevant health metric. General HR data is no longer imported.
Q2: Why is RHR logged at a fixed time like 12:00 PM?
A2: The time displayed for RHR data is a technical placeholder and does not affect the accuracy of the measurement. RHR is an average value for a specific period, not a continuous reading.
Q3: What should I do if my RHR data is still not syncing?
A3: If you continue to experience issues, please contact Support with detailed information, including screenshots if possible, to help resolve the issue.
We understand that this transition may take some getting used to, but it is designed to enhance the accuracy and relevance of the health data MyNetDiary and PlateAI provide. Thank you for your understanding and support as we continue to improve the app. For further assistance, please contact us directly at support@mynetdiary.com.
