Common questions about Devices and Syncing
Why isn't my Garmin or Withings syncing?
For Garmin or Withings, first check in a browser that your tracker has recently uploaded data to the vendor's website; MyNetDiary downloads it from there. Then check the link status in MyNetDiary and reconnect if disconnected. If syncing still fails after these checks, send a support request.
Which fitness trackers and apps can I sync with MyNetDiary?
You can link Garmin and Withings directly, which requires a subscription. Any other tracker or app can sync through Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android, both available with free membership, as long as the device sends its data to that hub. If your device cannot send data to a hub, no sync is possible.
How do I transfer my MyFitnessPal data to MyNetDiary?
In MyFitnessPal, open More > Apps and Devices and choose Apple Health on iOS or Health Connect on Android. Allow MyFitnessPal to write data but leave reading off to avoid sync complications. If MyNetDiary is linked to the same hub, exported weight and workout data should import automatically.
Should I log exercise myself if my tracker already counts it?
No. If your tracker records the workout and includes its calories in the daily total, logging it again double-counts the calories. If the tracker missed the activity, either log it in the tracker's app so it syncs, or log it directly in MyNetDiary, but never both.
