An error that the required for scanning barcode libraries is missing in Google Play services

The scanner uses Google's barcode libraries, which live in Google Services on your Android device rather than in our app. The message means your device could not download them, usually because the connection is spotty or storage is full. Clear some space, reboot the device, then scan again and wait for the download.

Our barcode scanner tool uses Google's libraries. This library is not a part of our app. It's a part of the Google Services App built into your Android device. Usually, they are downloaded by the system automatically, but in some cases, they cannot be downloaded.

If you see a message that "The barcode libraries aren't available. Google Services Apps have to be updated," that means the system can't download them. A spotty Internet connection on your device can cause an issue with the Google Services Apps update. Or your device does not have sufficient storage space for that update.

If your Internet connection is working fine, we recommend cleaning up the storage space on your device. Uninstall unnecessary apps, reboot your device, and try to use the MyNetDiary or PlateAI app again. Google Services Apps must download the required barcode libraries immediately after scanning from the app. Wait for the downloading process to complete. Then, try the scanner again. It has to start working fine.
