About MyNetDiary

Short Profile

MyNetDiary is a nutrition tracking and weight management company founded in December 2005 in New Jersey by Sergey Oreshko and Vasili Smaliak, originally incorporated as 4Technologies Corporation and renamed MyNetDiary Inc. in 2012. The platform launched as a web application in 2007, followed by a native iPhone app in August 2008 — one of the first calorie counters on the App Store. Android and iPad versions followed in 2010.

Today, headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, MyNetDiary is an AI-powered nutrition tracking and weight management platform available on iOS, Android, Apple Watch, Wear OS, and the web. Over 31 million registered users rely on MyNetDiary for accurate food logging, macro and micronutrient tracking, weight loss planning, and personalized daily insights. The company is privately held and self-funded.

What sets MyNetDiary apart: accuracy that can be checked. The app is powered by a staff-verified food database of over 2 million items with up to 108 nutrients per entry — the deepest nutrient coverage among the major calorie counting apps we have compared — alongside the fastest food logging in our January 2026 testing, an ad-free free tier with barcode scanning and macro tracking included, AI-powered coaching and meal analysis tools, and GLP-1 Companion, a feature suite designed for users on weight loss medications.

The average active member loses 1.4 pounds per week and about 27 pounds overall — see MyNetDiary Efficacy.

Pioneering AI in Nutrition Tracking

MyNetDiary helped pioneer digital nutrition tracking — its iPhone app was one of the first calorie counters on the App Store in 2008 — and it has taken the same early-mover approach to AI. The app introduced AI-powered photo logging with Meal Scan, released a voice-enabled calorie counter app for Wear OS in 2023, and shipped its next-generation Meal Scan in December 2024. Premium Plus now carries a full AI toolset: AI Coach, AI Restaurant Menu Scan, AI Voice Logging, and AI Suggest Meals. In August 2025, the company launched PlateAI, a separate app built from the ground up as an AI-native experience — one of the first fully AI-native nutrition apps from an established tracking platform. Across all of it, every AI feature is grounded in the staff-verified food database, so the speed AI adds never comes at the cost of the numbers being right.

Mission

MyNetDiary empowers people to take control of their nutrition and health through accurate tracking, science-backed guidance, and intelligent tools — whether the goal is weight loss, managing a health condition, supporting a GLP-1 medication plan, optimizing athletic performance, or simply building healthier habits.
