Switching from Premium to Premium Plus

You can upgrade from Premium to Premium Plus at any time in the iPhone or Android app: Me tab, App Settings, Manage Subscription. The website does not sell Premium Plus. You do not cancel Premium first. Apple charges the full Premium Plus price and refunds the unused Premium time. Google charges only the price difference and keeps your renewal date.

Switching from Premium to Premium Plus

Premium Plus is our highest membership tier. If you are currently on a Premium plan, you can move up to Premium Plus at any time — you do not have to wait for your current plan to end, and you do not need to cancel it first. The app store handles the switch for you.

1. How to upgrade

Open the app and go to Me tab → App Settings → Manage Subscription, then choose a Premium Plus plan. The upgrade takes effect immediately, and you will have access to Premium Plus features right away.

Note: Premium Plus can only be purchased in the iPhone or Android app. It is not available on our website, which processes standard Premium subscriptions only (through our payment provider, Paddle). To upgrade to Premium Plus, please use the app.

2. What happens to my current Premium plan?

You will never be billed for both plans at the same time. When you upgrade, the app store automatically replaces your Premium subscription with Premium Plus — you can only have one active plan at a time. You do not need to cancel your old Premium subscription; it is handled for you. (This is different from our one-time Lifetime product, which does require manual cancellation.)

How the charge and any refund are handled depends on your device:

🍎 iPhone / iPad (Apple App Store)

  • You are charged the full price of the new Premium Plus plan right away.
  • Apple then automatically issues a prorated refund for the unused portion of your old Premium plan.
  • The refund is calculated and issued by Apple, not by MyNetDiary. It is usually credited within a few business days, though Apple allows up to 30 business days depending on your bank.

🤖 Android (Google Play)

  • Your plan is upgraded immediately and your renewal date stays the same.
  • Instead of a separate refund, Google charges you only the price difference between Premium and Premium Plus for the remaining time in your current billing period.

The end result is similar on both platforms — you effectively pay only the difference between the two tiers — but Apple does it by refunding your old plan, while Google does it by charging just the difference up front.

3. Monthly and annual plans

Upgrading works the same way whether you are on a monthly or an annual Premium plan, as long as you move to the matching Premium Plus duration (monthly → monthly, or annual → annual).

Example (annual): Suppose you pay $59.99/year for Premium and upgrade to $99.99/year Premium Plus shortly after renewing:

  • iPhone: You are charged $99.99 now, and Apple refunds most of the $59.99 you just paid (minus the small amount of time you actually used Premium).
  • Android: You are charged roughly the £16 difference, and your renewal date is unchanged.

4. Changing your billing period at the same time

If you also want to switch billing periods while upgrading (for example, monthly Premium → annual Premium Plus):

  • iPhone: Apple treats any move to a higher tier as an immediate upgrade, so you switch right away and receive a prorated refund for your old plan.
  • Android: A combined tier-and-period change can behave differently from a simple same-period upgrade. If you are unsure, the most predictable approach is to upgrade to Premium Plus on your current billing period first, then change the billing period afterward.

5. Switching back to Premium (downgrade)

If you later move from Premium Plus back down to Premium, the change is scheduled for your next renewal date rather than happening immediately. You keep your Premium Plus benefits until the current period ends, and there is no partial refund for downgrading.

6. Can I get a refund if I upgraded by mistake?

Yes, in most cases — but who handles the refund depends on your device.

🍎 iPhone / iPad (Apple App Store)

When you upgraded, Apple already refunded the unused portion of your old Premium plan automatically (see Section 2). If you also want to reverse the Premium Plus purchase itself, you will need to request that from Apple: App Store purchases can only be refunded by Apple, not by MyNetDiary. Submit a request at reportaproblem.apple.com, or from your device under Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions.

🤖 Android (Google Play)

You have two options. You can request a refund and manage your subscription directly through Google Play, or you can contact MyNetDiary and we will issue the refund for you.
