Common questions about Calories, Macros, and Goals
How do I set my own calorie goal?
In the mobile apps, open My Weight Goal & Plan > Weight & Calories and tap Food Calorie Budget to enter your own number. On the website, use Plan > Weight & Calories. Automatic calculations stop at 2 lb/week loss and 1 lb/week gain; manually override those limits only when following a healthcare provider's recommendation.
How does calorie cycling work and where do I set it up?
Calorie Cycling lets you set different calorie budgets for different days of the week, for example slightly lower on some days and the saved calories moved to weekends. Open the Calorie Cycling tab in My Weight Goal & Plan. Your daily allocations must add up to your daily Calorie Budget multiplied by 7.
Why am I not losing weight when I'm under my calorie budget?
If you truly keep a calorie deficit, you will lose weight, so first tighten your tracking: weigh or measure all foods and drinks and log basic foods. Water weight can hide progress, so weigh yourself first thing in the morning and track sodium, since salty meals often cause water retention. Also double-check your logged exercises and recipes.
Can I track intermittent fasting in MyNetDiary?
Yes, with a subscription. Before enabling Fasting Tracking, choose a protocol in Diet Tools > Intermittent Fasting or App Settings > Intermittent Fasting. The default is 16:8; custom protocols can last 1 to 168 hours. Reminders prompt you to start and stop fasting, but you must confirm manually because tracking does not start or stop automatically.
